U Lyk Mah Hurr?
My hair is pretty darn short which makes it hard to do anything creative with…I can do victory rolls, curls, and scarves, and that’s about it. This is what I like to do to keep it off my neck in the summer: It’s very easy and very effective. Tutorial… How to: 1. Fold your scarf or bandana into a giant triangle and wrap it around your shoulders, shawl style. 2. Tie...

My sailor dress! Oh no!
So…the sailor dress I sewed two years ago no longer fits…or perhaps it does but I like a different fit these days than I did when I sewed it. Either way, I am going to be sewing a new and improved one. This is the original: It was based on this Modcloth dress: However, I want to add a few details to the dress. So I searched “nautical” on Modcloth and found a few cute...

Fruit Stand Sundress
I made this sundress out of a very, very light cotton (I self-lined the entire thing and it’s still very light). It has a lace midriff overlay and a sweetheart neckline. It’s super comfy.

My Avocado Pesto Pasta
I made a delicious avocado-pesto-pasta for dinner tonight and even though it looks like a “pile of snot” as one of my friends so eloquently stated, it was so delicious! The recipe can be found here, at Veg News.

Be jealous, homies....
because I have just completed the Pew US Religious Knowledge Test and passed with flying colors! After reading the Blonde Nonbeliever’s post about the quiz, I decided to test my own knowledge and scored an 87%, or 13 out of 15 answered correctly! After you take the quiz you can compare your knowledge to that of others in the US. I scored about the 95th percentile. However, the most...

I Got My Gold Award
I’m all done with all ceremonies and such related to my Girl Scout Gold Award! I have several certificates and a pin to prove it! For anyone who does not know, Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting (it follows the Bronze and Silver awards). It requires the scout to go through many prerequisites including a 15-hour Gold Leadership Award, a 30-hour Gold Career Award, extensive...

Navy blue floral swimsuit
I made this swimsuit from a McCall’s pattern and a Burdastyle pattern. I rather like it! My mom has a different suit made of the same fabric.

Ruffly red bikini
I made this from a McCall’s swimwear pattern I bought last year. The suit I made from it last year did not come out well but this one sure did! I added ruffles to it and used a different pattern for the bottoms. I trimmed it with black elastic and black serging.

So, I am currently reading an article on Jezebel which talks about how Forever21 is suing fashion blogger wtforever21.com for defamation and stuff - basically for criticizing its clothing. Read the article, it’s silly. I have my own issues with forever21 and other similar chains. First off, I have to preface this with my decision a few months ago to begin buying only secondhand or sewing...

Why do many women consider Brazilians to be... →
Personally, I think Brazilians make a person look like a 10 year old. They are uncecessary, painful, and unnatural. Why do women get them? Well, why do they get unnatural things like fake bakes, boob implants, and have their hair straightened or curled with poisonous chemicals?

Ren Faire recon
My friend Tangie needed a sundress reconstructed to work for a Renaissance Faire she’ll be selling her pottery at. It was originally pretty much just the purple sundress but with no white panel in the center.
