Jazz Age Lawn Party Street Style →
I totally wish I had been able to go to this…I mean, I guess I could have but it was iffy and I couldn’t find anyone to go with. I’ll go to the next one, hopefully.

cest-des-conneries asked: Just found your blog! Love the idea. Hey I noticed on the picture of the bottle necklace that you posted something about making your own. Would you post a DIY video? Or picture instructions? I would love to make one but I have no idea how it was done or what exactly is in the bottle.

Wearing a bra does not prevent sagging boobs.
Just thought I’d put it out there…there is no scientific evidence to support the myth that wearing a bra will prevent your boobs from sagging (except possibly in the case of wearing a running bra while working out).  Granted, many larger-breasted women are more comfortable in a bra, but it will not prevent ptosis (the scientific word for breast sagging).  There have been a few...

The Help
I went to see The Help today and it was excellent. It was a really interesting movie, and Emma Stone was amazing (well, as always of course). Of course I knew how poorly whites treated blacks in the 50s and 60s but I never knew how poorly the whites that sympathized with blacks were treated…it was all just a complete mess. It had a lot of comic relief moments in it too, like the chocolate...

Chicago in NYC
I FINALLY saw Chicago on Broadway yesterday night! It was awesome. The entire show is done with no set, simple costumes, and a few props. It was great! It’s a lot different from the movie; my favorite difference was the courtroom scene. It was much funnier in the show than the movie! I would highly recommend seeing it. Next on the list: Billy Elliot!

College and Makeup
So, I met my roommate today and she is an avid makeup lover! We went to Sephora and she ruthlessly raided it. Just kidding, she only bought a few things…but she certainly loves makeup. I, on the other hand, am not that big on makeup. I’ve got some, and I occasionally wear it, but due to my sensitive eyes and contact allergy etc. etc. I don’t wear much shadow, due to my pale...

Mah new raincoat.
I’ve had a really cute raincoat from H&M since Freshman year of high school but unfortunately, it no longer fits. I mean, I weighed like 95 lbs freshman year….and now I don’t. So, I decided to make a new one after an unsuccessful thrift shop hunt for a replacement. I copied the pattern off the existing raincoat and made it a bit larger, particularly in the shoulders. Result:...

So I attempted to go shopping....
I know I do my best to buy secondhand, but today I was tempted by the department store overstock seller that is Marshalls. I had brought my dad to the hospital to have a procedure done and was waiting for the call to pick him up, so I went to a nearby Marshalls and looked through the racks. And….NOTHING I found was cute. At all. What is it with these “flowy” tops and wierd...

Making terrariums!
So, I made a post a few months ago about terrariums and the like - and finally got around to making some of my own! When I was in Cape Cod, there was a shop that sold Tillandsia, commonly known as airplants - they are bromeliads which need little care and are difficult to accidentially kill, even for me! They were 3 for $5 so I got three and incorporated them into a terrarium and a quasi-terrarium...

Cape Cod Pt. 5: Random Shots
I have quite a few shots that don’t have any specific category, or where there aren’t enough in a category to have a post dedicated to them…so here they are: On Sunday night we went to see Harry Potter 7.2 at a drive-in theater in Wellfleet which was very cool! I had never been to a drive-in. There was a big screen (obviously, I suppose) and you tuned your car into a certain...

Cape Cod Pt. 4: Dune hike
On Tuesday, Kathryn and I decided to go letterboxing in Wellfleet, MA on a dune trail. Disclaimer: Never go on a dune hike on a hot sunny day - there is no shade and you will feel like you’re going to die.  I digress. Letterboxing, for those who don’t know, is akin to a treasure hunt for a small weatherproof container in which you find a stamp and a logbook - you sign the logbook, and...
