Abandoned Campus
Near my school there is an abandoned mental hospital complex. I went to check it out with my boyfriend and it was really cool. I am always interested in poking around abandoned structures - they are fascinating.

Crown of Love (And By Love I Mean Flowers)
Modcloth, one of my favorite online stores, also happens to run a blog. From time to time, they publish DIY projects. When I saw this tutorial for a flower crown, I knew I HAD to try it out! I love hair accessories (especially ones appropriate for short hair) and flowers are my favorite type, hands-down. So I headed to JoAnn’s and bought the supplies (did you know that if you show a college...

2012 Summer Playlist
My favorite season is summer, and having awesome summer music makes it even better! Like many other people I compile myself a summer music list every year. Here are the highlights of my 2012 list.
1. Authentic Pyrric Remission by Of Montreal
2. Don’t Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) by Regina Spektor
3. Victoria by The Kinks
4. Two Doves by the Dirty Projectors

Summer = Coveting Vintage Barware for the Patio...
I live in a dorm, so obviously I don’t really have the space to be keeping a stash of barware. Besides that, I don’t exactly have a bar, or a dining space, or even a patio. But does that mean I can’t drool over pretty vintage barware? Heck no it doesn’t!
I am such a sucker for retro tiki glasses. This set from vintagejunque is $13.
Nakie girl swizzle sticks? Yeah,...

Long Weekend in Vermont
I had a lovely, lovely long weekend the past few days. I drove up to Vermont with a group of friends and stayed in one friend’s family cabin. It has been a relaxing weekend of swimming, reading, relaxing, and bonfires. The cabin was cozy, the weather was excellent, and the lake was refreshing to swim in.
We found this cat puzzle in one of the rooms and our host, Brian, told us that...

What I Wore: July 4, 2012
I had a nice, laid-back Independence Day. Just went over to my boyfriend’s, played some pool, grilled some yummy food, and challenged his brother and brother’s girlfriend to a badminton match. It was relaxing. And I got all red-white-and-blue for the occasion. I enjoy being festive.
That’s also a new pair of shorts! I made them from Colette pattern’s shorts pattern,...

My Summer Sangria
I made this sangria for a family cookout this weekend.
I just combined the following ingredients: 1 bottle chardonnay, 1 cup peach schnapps, 3 peaches (diced), 1 bag frozen raspberries, 1 bottle club soda, and 1/2-3/4 cup lemonade concentrate. Then I put ice in it to keep it cold. Try it, it was delicious!
