Pink Easter Dress
I finally got pictures of this pink 30s style dress I made a while back. I absolutely love the way it turned out. I drafted the pattern myself after seeing a similar dress on the internet. The fabric is a pink and white striped shirting - I bought a bunch of shirtings when they were on sale on Fabric.com!

My Senior Project: Fieldwork
So, for my senior project (the thesis paper from which I published a few weeks - months? - ago) I had to do fifteen hours of fieldwork. I chose to make a dress from a vintage pattern using a treadle machine. I’ve decided that treadle machines are a huge pain and there’s a good reason no one uses them any more. However the dress came out very cute:

I used a 1959 pattern, McCall’s 5107. I modified it to not require a bullet bra and girdle, and to be sleevless.

Well, this is a pretty boring item, but I made it so I suppose I’ll post it. It’s a khaki skirt for my Girl Scout uniform, to wear for my Gold Award which I am set to recieve next month.
It’s got six gores, in-seam pockets, and an invisible zipper in back.

The First Sundress of 2011
Well, I made it to March 1st without jumping the gun on making sundresses. I set the March 1st date for myself because making sundresses in February just seems a bit…excessively early.
The first one, after the jump, is made of a fabulous black and white gingham seersucker.

Here’s the dress I made for Tanya for her black-tie event. It’s a floor length velvet dress with sequiny trim.

Colette’s “Rooibos”: Mission Complete!
I finally got photos of my Rooibos dress I made. I wore it to see a show and go out for dinner this weekend with my boyfriend’s family. I am very happy with the way it came out, and the pattern was perfect - I needed very little additional fitting.

Valentine’s Day
I had a fabulous Valentine’s Day weekend.. I went to Maggie McFly’s with my friends on Friday, went out for (awesome and delicious) pizza with my boyfriend on Saturday, and went to a chocolate festival with my friend Jess on Sunday. Then my mom and dad took me out to a brunch buffet at a local Indian food restaurant that we go to quite often.
I also wore a cute new dress on Saturday and today, Valentine’s Day…

Sleepwear mania!!! :-)
I have recently made a metric ton of sleepwear so I had my gorgeous friend Polly come over and model it for me!
Here are the first two things, a gold slip and a flannel robe.

And the robe:

More to come soon: another slip, a satin camisole, and a wrap dress!
